FAQ’s
1. Can I really make money with an ebook?
You absolutely can IF you do the research first and build a solid foundation. The problem is that too many people are in a hurry to start writing; they don’t lay the foundation. They spend all this time and money writing, and then they have no buyers; it’s a roll of the dice, which doesn’t make any sense when you can do the research and find out if your idea is going to make money. If it can, great! Go for it. If not, find another idea. This way you will always know if your ebook can make money before you write a single word!
2. How many pages should my ebook be?
The best size for an ebook is 80-120 pages. Remember, most people are not going to read your ebook online; they are going to print it out and printing can get expensive. I’ve written ebooks that were 150 pages and I’ve heard of people writing 200 page ebooks. But 80-120 it optimal. However, if you wrote a 5-page ebook that told people how to make a million dollars guaranteed and it worked, you could sell it no problem. So really you need to make your ebook as short or as long as you need to, to say what you have to say.
3. How do I know how much to charge for my ebooks?
Every niche is different. I have heard of ebooks that sell for $297, but most ebooks sell in the $27 to $47 range. You want to make sure to add bonuses so that the value is there.
4. Do I need a website?
If you’re serious about having an ebook/information-product business, you need a website. But not just any website; you want to make sure that you have a website with an opt-in box.
5. How do I get one?
There are many different ways to get a website. No matter what you do, make sure you are working with someone who really understands how to create a website that will support your online business. Hint: A graphic artist is NOT a web designer.

6. How do I make a pdf?
You can get a fr.ee trial at www.adobeacrobat.com. There is also a free product called pdf995, but if you don’t want all the ads, there is another version you can buy.
7. How do I protect my ebook from theft?
Make sure that you copyright your ebook. You can also use an ebook-theft protection program. I recommend eBook Generator, which you can purchase at www.theebookcoach.com/ebookgenerator. There are also several tricks of the trade that are no or low cost and you can learn more about them by purchasing the ebook-theft protection tip sheet or audio program.
8. How do I copyright my ebook?
It’s actually copyrighted the minute you create it, but try and prove it. That’s why it’s important to file it with the Copyright Office at www.copyright.gov. To do this you fill out a form which you can get on their site and pay a $45 registration fee. Then just send it into the copyright office in Washington D.C.
9. How do you find a hungry niche market that you know wants your ebook before putting in all the time into writing one?
The short answer is to do a keyword search, look at trends, go to chat rooms, forums, and discussion boards and see what people want, what problems they have, and how you can provide a solution.
10. Can I change my ebook once I write it?
Yes, and that is the beauty of writing an ebook. You can create a new pdf any time you want to update your ebook. And since information changes so rapidly in our world today, it’s one of the advantages of writing an ebook over a book - you won’t get stuck with a lot of outdated books that you can’t sell.
On the other hand, you can change an ebook any time you want and too many people keep working on the same ebook trying to make it perfect and don’t know when to leave it alone and move on to their next ebook!
11. How do I add pictures?
You want to upload the pictures, then go to insert and insert them into the text. But there are different ways you can arrange your text. You can wrap it around a picture or have the picture to one side. How you do this depends on what program you are using.
12. Do I need to have my own shopping cart aside from using PayPal, or does PayPal include both?
PayPal allows people to use their credit card OR their bank account to make payments. It's up to the person to add a credit card to their profile to be able to use it. But I recommend having your own shopping cart for a few reasons. First of all, on large orders PayPal costs you a lot per transaction. Plus, you can do a lot more with a shopping cart than with PayPal. You can create coupons, for instance, and do upsells. You can’t do any of that with PayPal.
