Tech Tip

 If you want to use 1 Shopping Cart (www.theebookcoach.com/ecommerce.html) as your shopping cart, but you want to use Aweber's autoresponders to save money and to control when you want your emails to go out, you have to have an opt-in page to Aweber after people pay for your ebook or information product in order to actually receive it.

Another way to do it is to offer an extra bonus if they opt in again so they don't have to in order to get what they've already bought, but you might lose some repeat customers with this process.  It's  your choice.

It’s time for The Virtual eBook Expo 2 and I am really excited!  I never planned to turn it into a yearly event, but it was so amazing that people begged me to keep doing it so here we are!

Don't Frustrate Your eBook Buyers By Making This Mistake

This is a true story....

My husband, Christen, and I were doing research on the Internet looking to solve a somewhat technical issue and decided to go to the blog of a well-known Internet Marketer who makes millions on line. We came across a very compelling video made by other well-known Internet Marketers on his site who also make millions on line. And at the end of the video we were given the opportunity to pick up a free ebook on exactly what we were looking for.

We downloaded the pdf and then Christen started reading it while I worked on another part of the project. When he was done, he left the print out on the edge of the sofa.

Then when I was taking a break, eating lunch, I started thumbing through it. I was already sold so I wanted to get right to the nuts and bolts of what we were trying to find out, so I skipped to the middle, read a little bit, and then went back to work.

The next day, Christen said we needed to sit down together and start mapping out our plan of action based on what we were learning from the ebook. So we sat down together. But when we started to go through the ebook we realized that it had gotten out of order and there were no page numbers!

So then we had to get back on the web to try and locate the link to the free download so we could put the pages back in order. We found the product online right away for $47 but not for free.

So we retraced our steps, got back to the video but still couldn't get to the link to the free pdf. And I really didn't feel like getting up and going upstairs to get it since it was the weekend and it was supposed to be my time off. But I had no choice if I wanted it.

So I went upstairs and got on my computer and found the download link. But then I realized I was low on paper and so I didn't want to print it out again. So Christen and I sat there and numbered the pages by hand.

So that didn't make me too happy. Think about it... have you ever seen a book without page numbers? I haven't. The definition of a book or ebook is delivering content in an organized way and part of that organization is having page numbers so people can find what they are looking for! It's like looking for a needle in a haystack especially with a "how-to" ebook if you don't have page numbers.

Now, at the end of this ebook there were offers to some other products. And I was curious enough to go the web pages and take a look, but the truth is that I am a bit wary of buying because as a person who is not technical, if I am going to buy information products in technical areas that I am not that good at to begin with, I want them to be easy to use and now I don't trust that they will be.

So always paginate your ebooks and never frustrate your customers-even when you are giving away content for free, because it reflects badly on you and can hinder future sales.

Q: What's the best way to get started writing your ebook?

A: The best way to get started writing your ebook is to create an outline.  That way you can see how many chapters you have and if it's really one ebook or several.  Once you know exactly what is going to go in this ebook and what to leave out, the process becomes much easier. Q: How can I find bonuses for my ebook?

A: Sign up for people's newsletters in your niche. Promote their products, create relationships and then ask for bonuses. You'll get more people saying yes when they know you!  You can also create your own bonuses.  One quick way to do this is write an article then expand it by recording it in to a 15 or 20 minute bonus. This works great! Do 3 of them and you have an hour of content
