“The Power of Personal Peace: Reducing Stress by Loving Yourself From The Inside Out.”
By Ilenya Marrin

Ilenya Marrin is a very articulate author and has great information to share with her audience in her eBook “The Power of Personal Peace: Reducing Stress by Loving Yourself From The Inside Out.” Her style is relaxed but authoritative. It’s very open, honest and although it’s obvious she’s very serious about her work, and this topic, this eBook is warm and inviting.
However, my biggest concern, as with any book or eBook, is that people are sufficiently enticed by the cover to actually pick it up and start reading it. And, I don’t think that this eBook cover does the eBook justice. The first thing that strikes me when I look at it is that the cover is a little edgy for the subject matter. It would work better to have a cover that really conveyed a peaceful feeling. The author should consider working with an eBook designer and take the graphics to the next level because it is such a powerful eBook. I wanted it to have a more professional “feel” to it.
The title is very descriptive and the subheading really does define the subject and target market of this eBook. Again, it has a bit of a design problem on the title page following the cover- it’s a bit too plain, especially in contrast to the cover. Even something as simple as using a more interesting font and some sort of tasteful graphic embellishments would increase the perception that it is a professional eBook. This would also be helpful for chapter headings and subheadings, as well as in the table of contents. But overall
the layout is good and clean looking. The only comment I have there is that the margins are a little wide and can actually distract the reader. I would make them a little smaller.
The author uses bullets and numbering as well as charts when appropriate which helps to break up the copy and give the eBook even more credibility.
This eBook is packed with solid information, instructions and exercises which serve to enhance it’s value. And, the reader is pulled in by interesting subheadings in her table of content such as “Surfacing the Icebergs: Unfinished Business in the Unconscious” and “Cut Out Your Daily Dose of Frustration” And it’s clear that Ms. Marrin knows what she’s talking about. She also illustrates her points well; telling stories to make them come alive and gives interesting and clear examples. The eBook is 155 pages which is a little on the long side for an eBook but not by much. And, it’s laid out in a very logical manner and each section supports the whole so I wouldn’t worry about the length per se. And what struck me most is that there is genuine warmth and caring that comes through in her words.
There are many books and eBooks out there on similar subjects. However, this one is worth taking a look at as the author not only speaks with authority and passion but she pulls together knowledge from many places to create a powerful guide to help people work through their issues. I realize that there is a lot of demand for my reader's attention and I am sensitive to this so e-book reviews must be kept to a reasonable length in the newsletter as well.
Therefore I am accepting e-books for full-critiques.
