For every failure, there's an alternative course of action. You just have to find it. When you come to a roadblock, take a detour.

Mary Kay Ash

Two years ago my husband and I went to the Mega Book University with Mark Victor Hansen as attendees and we met Gary W. Turner. Gary became my student and then my friend and colleague.  In fact, I signed up in Bookwise under Gary.

Gary lives in Atlanta and we live in Redondo Beach just south of Los Angeles and we keep in touch through emails and occasional phone calls - Gary's brother lives in the Valley area of Los Angeles so we see him periodically.

This week  Gary is in town to attend a conference, so he came over. We hung out, walked on the beach and threw some ideas around and came up with some really exciting things that we plan to work on together.

Why am I telling you this? Because this is one of the things I love about this business! I get to hang out with and make money with the best people! We get to be creative while coming up with ideas and strategies that we think will make your life easier and better! It's about ebooks, but it's also about networking and relationships. So nurture those relationships - you'll get way more than you ever imagined!

And on that note, I really want to acknowledge my affiliates of the month Judith Sherven and Jim Sniechowski.  We met online through Alex Mandossian's Teleseminar Secrets. I count them among my friends and colleagues as well.  And I feel very lucky to know them!

They are putting on an amazing conference Feb. 22-24 here in Los Angeles on Bridging Heart and Marketing and we'd love to meet you there! So if you'd like to hear more, check out the link under their picture in the affiliate spotlight!

5 Ways to Motivate Yourself To Start Writing Your eBook!

 1. If you want to stay on track, you need to figure out your “big why.” You have to know why you are writing your ebook and be able to come up with a compelling reason that will keep moving you forward.

For instance, let’s say your motivation is it seems like a fun thing to do and you’ve always thought about doing it, but you keep putting it off. Then you lose your job and can’t find  another one.

Being in this position might be just the push that you need to actually start writing your ebook. Now everyone is different, so you have to find the “big why” for you and stay focused on it as you move forward.

 2. Ask yourself what will happen if you don’t write your ebook now? Where will you be in six months? A year? 5 years? 10 years? You’ll be older, but you could be in the same financial situation and life situation as you are right now, and that could be a scary thought to some people. If that’s you and if that is not where you want to be, this exercise could be a wake up call!

Q & A

Q. What's the fastest way to build a list?

A. There is no one right answer to this question. It really depends on what you love to do and what you are good at. You could have the best strategy in the world, but if you aren't good at it, it won't work for you!  But with that said, viral marketing is a great way to build your list. One example of viral marketing - and I like this one  because it works for everybody - is using a  tell-a-friend script.

When you put the script on your free reports and thank-you pages for teleseminars, you invite people to share your content with others and it helps to build your list without you having to do any extra work!

You can use video and special reports as well as free ebooks, anything that is entertaining that makes people want to share it is a great way to build your list!

Q. Is it best to stick with key points or expand and tell stories to illustrate in your ebooks?

A. Stories that illustrate your points are always a good thing to add to your ebooks. They help you connect at a deeper level with your audience and they are entertaining too!
