I will no longer
be doing ebook reviews in the newsletter. I am now doing “Live eBook
Makeovers” instead in the eBook Writer’s Club. To join the club or
for more information go to

Q: How
long should an ebook be?
A: In
theory it should be as long as it takes to convey the information
you want to convey.
But the general
rule of thumb is that 80-120 pages is optimum and 80-144 pages is
acceptable. Remember most people print out their ebooks to read
them and it costs more money in paper and ink the longer the ebook.
So always keep that in mind.
---
Q: Do you
need to copyright your ebook?
A: Your
ebook is protected as soon as you write it. However, it is still
important to put the copyright sign on your document with the date
to show that it is original and when it was completed.
I don’t give
legal advice but I suggest people fill out the copyright form, pay
the $30 and record their original works with the Copyright Office in
case you ever need to PROVE that it is an original work and when it
was created.
For a “poor man’s” copyright, you can put your
manuscript in a manila envelope and send it to yourself. As long as
you don’t open it, the postmark serves as your proof for date of
purchase. But I’d still fill out the form and send it to the
copyright office as soon as you can afford to do so. For more
information, please consult an attorney.

Q: How
much can one realistically make with an ebook?
A: This is
a difficult question to answer because it depends on your passion,
your skill set and how you marry them to a subject that your target
market can’t wait to buy; You also want to make sure that your
target market has money and is willing
to pay for the information.
I have seen
ebooks bring in $250,000 to $500,000 and I have seen
equally-well-written ebooks make just a handful of sales.
(Some ebooks won’t make a dime if you try to sell them, but if you give
them away you might make good money on the back-end (usually through
affiliate links)
Other ebooks should be given away for free to
build your credibility and visibility. And sometimes, it makes more
sense to give an ebook away until you build your expert status and
THEN you can sell it.)
Whether your
ebook is going to sell or not is not
really something I can tell you in two sentences-it’s a process. So, the
way to find out how much your ebook can realistically make is to
enroll in The Quick-Start 3-Day eBook Authoring Workshop.
Once you know the
system you can use it every time you write an ebook to insure that
it will be success BEFORE you write a single word. For more
