Did you know
you can capture a screen shot by pressing the PrtSc key on your keyboard?
The image is automatically saved in a temporary file, but you can use the Edit/Paste command
to insert the image into programs such as Word. You can also edit the screen shot
with Microsoft Paint. Under the Edit menu in Paint, select Paste. You can then
crop the image and add text or other symbols. You may want to save the file in
a JPEG format, which makes the file smaller. To do this, click on File | Save
As. Name the file and then select JPEG beside the Save As type. |

The Virtual eBook Expo 2 exceeded my
expectations by far! The information was the best! And I can't
begin to express how grateful I am to all my guests. They did an
amazing job.
I'm always surprised to find that I
learn something new every time I show up that propels me
to a new level in business, or creativity, or both!
And the Internet is always changing so
there is always something new to learn which is what I love
about it. The thing is you MUST stay open to learning to
succeed online and enjoy the process or you won't stick with it!
I recently took a course from one of the
top Internet Marketers and right afterwards he promoted
another course by another top marketer and guess what... the
first marketer is taking the course!
We each have an area of expertise and we
all learn from each other at whatever level we are at. But
the bottom line is that none of us does it alone and education
plus showing up is the key. You need partners in this business
so just learning the material isn't enough.
You need to CONNECT!
So I hope you will continue to show up and
learn and grow your ebook/Internet business and NEVER give
up-because the rewards can be amazing.
If you attended the Expo, I hope you will
implement at least two ideas that you learned. And if you didn't
attend, I hope you'll check out the homestudy version when it is
ready. But even if you don't, stay open and implement
something new on a regular basis and you'll get wherever it is
you want to go!

Reasons To Start A Newsletter
When you create a newsletter you create a
relationship with your subscribers. A newsletter is a great way not
only to give free content on a regular basis, but it’s also a way to
connect with your readers in a deeper way than you might in your
other communications, especially if you have a “Letter From the
Editor” or some other way in which you share more personal thoughts
than you would otherwise.
Also a newsletter forces you to be
disciplined. If you say you are going to deliver your newsletter
every two weeks then you must put it out every two weeks. That way
your subscribers can count on getting your newsletter twice a month-
month in and month out.
If you say you are going to put it out every
week then you must put it out every week. The way super marketer
Yanik Silver gets around this is he calls it his “occasional
newsletter” so he can put it out whenever he wants to.
For me, I know I would never get it done if I
did that! So my newsletter comes out every two weeks.
Another benefit of having a regular newsletter
is that you can get advertisers. If you never know when it’s coming
out, nobody is going to want to buy ads in your newsletter!
Now it takes time to build the kind of
following that would make anyone want to advertise, but it’s
something to think about down the road.
When you create a newsletter and send it
out at a certain time, you also create trust with your customers when
you deliver on your promise and on time. Then they know that you
will do the same in other areas of your business.
And if you are someone who has difficulty
writing emails or is afraid to email to your list too often, this
sets up a structure so that you send something to your list on a
regular basis. But be sure to do it at least every two weeks -once a
month is not enough. Your subscribers will forget you!
And finally, you can repurpose the content from
your newsletter. So you can group articles together to create PDF
bonuses. You can take your articles and record them into bonuses and
teleseminars. And you can turn them into ebooks!
At the Virtual eBook Expo 2, Judith Sherven and
Jim Sniechowski discussed the power of newsletters and how to turn
your newsletter into an ebook.
The Expo is now over but we will be releasing
the home study version this summer so look for it in your emails
next month! |

Q & A |
|
Q: What's the
difference between a joint venture and an affiliate?
A:
If you go to someone's call as a presenter, they give you
what's called an affiliate link and that can cause some confusion
because you are actually joint venturing with them.
In joint ventures, people partner
together to work on a project where they generally split the
profits. Sometimes it can be a 60/40 split if one marketer is
well-know and has a huge list, but generally it's a 50/50 split.
(However in cases where you are the junior partner you should
expect to do most if not all of the work!)
An affiliate does not "work" with you.
They work for themselves and you make money in the process with
them. In this case, you create your product or program and they simply
get a link to it which they can promote to their list or online and make money.
So
for instance, in the Virtual eBook Expo 2 my guest speakers were joint
venture partners-they participated in the event with me and we all
promoted the event, whereas my affiliates got a link to the event and
promoted it, but did not participate in it.
Another example is if you co-wrote an
ebook with someone, that would be a joint venture. But if you
wrote the ebook and then people got a link and promoted it, they
would be affiliates.
Q:
How many pages should an ebook be?
A: I
get asked several times a week and I usually say that the average
ebook is between 80 and 120 pages but I want to be really clear
about this.
The real answer is as long as it takes to convey the information you
want to share in your ebook.
One
author's ebook was less than 30 pages and another's was over 300
pages. Research shows that people generally don't read over
200 pages, but it didn't stop a lot of people from purchasing Ben Mack's ebook.
So
the best advice I can give is STOP worrying about it too much and
write what you need to write, taking into consideration your target
market, your topic, and what purpose you want your ebook to serve in
your business!
