It's the
Fourth of July!
First, I want to say Happy Birthday to my
good friend Terri Romine!
Second, it's the 4th Of July next week!
I've always loved the fireworks, the
bar-b-ques, getting together with family and the warm weather.
But what I love most is thinking about what the 4th of July
stands for.
Did you see John Adams
on HBO? Or read the
book? It's a must-read for every American in my opinion.
When you realize what they went through to create this
country-it's give a whole new appreciation for what we enjoy
here in the USA!
We take a lot for granted, but America is
still the land of opportunity. And nothing personifies that more
than the Internet.
The possibilities are endless! You can be
an author, a blogger,
a radio/talk-show host, a teleseminarian, an affiliate marketer,
a videographer, a marketer, or all of the above! (And I'm sure
there are more I left out!) It's entirely up to you!
And the best thing is that nobody can stop
you from pursuing your dreams! Right now the opportunities
are greater than they have been in years. I hope you'll
spend some time this weekend really thinking about what you want
and declare your independence from whatever has been holding you
back! Then go for it!
Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!

Write
Compelling Ezine Articles That Increase Credibility And Drive
Targeted
Traffic To Your Site
Articles are
a great way to increase your credibility and build your list. You
can write articles for your newsletter or for other people’s
newsletters (or websites) that target the market that you want to
reach. You can also write them for your blog and for other people’s
blogs, and you can write them to submit to article directories.
The
important thing is to make sure that your article contains quality
content. It doesn’t do any good to write a run-of-the-mill
article. You need to impress readers with your knowledge because
that will give them something of value and increase your stature at
the same time.
People remain wary of doing business on the web, especially if they
don’t know you. One way to put their minds at ease comes from
demonstrating to them that you really qualify as an expert in your
field by providing quality content.
Also, try to tailor
your article so that it speaks to some aspect of the ebook you sell
(or a related subject). And, make sure to include a resource box at
the end of your article which spurs a call to action.
( It must present
something enticing enough to make them want to click through.)
A lot of people
make the mistake of just using the resource box to give information
about themselves without motivating readers to find out about you,
your product, and/or your website.
You can use a variation of this tactic
by writing an article either for your newsletter, or somebody else’s
newsletter (or website) and give a sample of your ebook.
Then after they get the sample, you can
direct them to the sales page for your ebook. Or you can send them
directly to your ebook sales letter and offer a sample at the top of
the page.
Finally, you can send them to a squeeze
page and give them the sample for opting in. Again, test and see
which one works best for you business.

Q & A |
|
Q:
Should I use my name or initials in my domain name?
A:
Unfortunately there is no right answer to this dilemma. There are pros and cons to using your name or initials as part
of your domain name. One of the pros is that you most likely will be
able to get the domain name.
With so many websites, a lot of the
names you might want are already gone. But with your name or
initials, chances are it's available.
Also, as your business
grows and you have many sites, using the same name or initial won't
be hard to get. So instead of ebooks4u.com for instance, it could be
ESVebooks4u.com using my initials. And then another site could
be
ESVebooks4sale. Now your brand would be ESVebooks4...You get
the idea.
The negative to this approach is that
in the beginning when you are unknown it will be harder for people
to find you and to remember
the name of your site. It's a lot easier to remember "The
eBook Coach" then ESVebooks4u mainly because visitors have no
association with ESV.
So if you are going to use your name or
initials, you are going to have to work harder to brand yourself. But
if you can't find another domain name that makes sense for your
business-which I recommend trying to do first, it might be a good way to go.
Q:
How do you brainstorm to come up with
a good topic to write about?
A: First
look at what you are interested in because you will never stick with
it if your topic doesn't interest you.
Go
to chat rooms, forums, discussions, social networking sites and see
what people are talking about.
Read the newspaper, watch the news.
Keep your eyes and ears open and have
pen and paper with you at all times and write ideas and topics down
when you come across them. If you tell yourself you don't need to
because you are sure
you'll remember, trust me you're wrong. I was a songwriter for 20
years with a Grammy nomination and I learned early on how quickly we
forget!
That
should get you started in the right direction. Stay tuned and I'll
write an article about it!
