Memorial Day Holiday Edition!

 
Memorial Day Weekend is when we remember those who fought and died for our country.  My dad and all my uncles fought in World War 2, My Grandfather fought in World War 1, my husband fought in Korea.  Luckily they all made it back safely and led productive lives but not everyone was so lucky.

My family members are all gone now except my husband, who is in the hospital as I write this.
He's 79 years old and there are times when he still has dreams, recollections, and stress from the war-it's a terrible thing-war.  So I hope you'll take a moment today to remember all those who have fought and are still fighting for this country.

Having said that here's what's up.....

Good news and bad news! I’m happy to report we found a great place to live
in time to settle in before Christen’s surgery It’s on an estate in  Woodland Hills, very healing, overlooking the whole valley. 

I’m told we’re neighbors with Lou Philips Diamond and some other artist types. Pretty cool.

Thanks for all the prayers,  we still need  them! He's having some complications. When the doctors went in they repaired the aneurism no problem but they found something on his pancreas so it’s a longer healing process. He’s not reacting well to the medications and he's not able to eat.

They moved him from the hospital to rehabilitation, back to the hospital. He has an  obstruction, and because he can't eat it's making him weak. I've been looking for a hands-on-healer to try and move it so he doesn't have to have surgery again. I found 
someone from one of my students that I hope works out. In the meantime,  it's pretty 
stressful.

So please send him more healing energy-Thanks!

Last but not least, I had a birthday.-which doesn't thrill me anymore but it's better than NOT having one! LOL.  And all the birthday wishes were awesome! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

''The World Is Flat: A Brief History
of the Twenty-First Century"
Title Analysis

This best-seller, by  Thomas L. Friedman. analyzes 21^st century economics and foreign policy and presents an overview of globalization trends.  The metaphor of a flat world, used by Friedman to describe the next phase of globalization, refers to how the world's economic playing field is being leveled. It was a phrase he picked up on when talking to an Indian Software executive and it stuck.

It’s ingenious because he's referring to the world as flat or level but there’s a deeper meaning as well. It refers to a time when the world was flat and America was not the preeminent super power in the world. 

Now we are returning to a similar time when people in other cultures have the ability to achieve the standard of living that was once reserved only for Americans. In other words, the ''barriers to entry'' are being destroyed and an individual or company can collaborate or compete anywhere in the world at any time.

It grabs your attention and makes you want to find out more. And, any time, you can come up with a title that has a double meaning and it’s a title that people have heard before, understand, and get’s their attention, you have a winner!
