Tech Tip

If you don't know what people are saying about you online, you should. And one great way to do this is to sign up for Google Alert.

It's FREE and it alerts you on any subject that you put in the keywords for. So you can put in your name, book titles, keywords for your topic, a subject you are researching and more!

I not only use it to see what people are saying about me, my products, and my services, but also to see which affiliates are promoting my products and service. That way I can encourage and thank them for their efforts without having to take time to log into my affiliate account all the time..

To sign up go to www.googlealerts.com

I hope you took some time off and  had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. We just took this time to take a breather before the Expo starts! Living at the beach makes it really easy-and with traffic and gas prices being what they are, I'm grateful to be at the beach-my favorite place to relax.

It's really easy to get caught up in your business and forget to smell the roses. I'm totally guilty of this.  But you really have to create boundaries and decide when to hang it up for a minute and go and replenish yourself.

I think the key to this is to learn to compartmentalize. When  you are working, give it 110%, but when you aren't, just let it go and give play time 110%!

Anyway, now it's back to work!  And the preview calls  have been fantastic! In the last newsletter I said "I'm always amazed that no matter how much I learn, there's always something else I can learn.  And  I get excited about something every time I interview someone!"

Not only that, but with the Expo we've added video to the mix in our promotions and that's been really fun too!  And I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of  those from me in the future!

In the meantime, I really want to urge you to join me at this year's Expo. It's a fantastic event and it's affordable for everyone!

Plus right now it's worth over $2000 with the bonus package I'm offering until Monday at 4 p.m. Pacific/7 p.m. Eastern.

Feature Article

How To Turn One eBook Into A Successful Online Business!

Some aspiring authors get lucky; they hit on an idea for writing an ebook, put up a mini site, maybe they put up Google ads, and maybe they make some money. Most people don’t.

People get excited about an idea and they just start writing without doing the research to see if there is even interest in what they are planning to sell. It's an emotional response. That’s why I say they  might make money.

In fact, the way that you get a 6 or 7-figure income is by building an online information business strategically starting with an ebook (that's the easiest way) and then dominating your niche.

Think about it…it makes a lot more sense to do the research, build a solid foundation and not only write an ebook that you know people are going to want to buy, but one that will further your business goals.  And most people don’t think in these terms before writing their ebooks.

They are thinking more about a particular topic that they want to write about and that  they are excited about right now.  But remember when you build an information business you are going to be talking about your topic and your ebook for a long time, so you want to make sure that it’s something that you are passionate about and that you have the skills so you can be assured success.

And the payoff can be huge when you do it the right way-by looking at what you are passionate about (because that will keep you interested in the project),  looking at your skill set (because you can’t do well at something you aren’t good at) and, seeing where those two intersect gives you a powerful start!.

Then you want to find a target market that is online, has money to spend, is eager to buy what you have to sell and that you have an affinity for (which  means understanding them so that they are drawn to you instead of someone else in your field).

And,  finally you want a target market that you understand so that you know how to touch them emotionally so they will buy from you on a regular basis.

Once you've covered all these bases, THEN  you will be ready to write your ebook knowing that you've got a financial winner!

Join me at the Virtual eBook Expo 2 starting, June 2nd 5:30 p.m. Pacific/8:30 p.m. Eastern and  start earning money now!

Q & A

Q: Once someone buys an ebook or information product
and then asks for a refund, you've already given them the product so do you just write it off?

A: You can, but you don't have to anymore. There is an amazing piece of software from Armand Morin that actually can disable any ebook anywhere in the world! It's called Product Padlock and if you want to order it through my link you can at:
http://www.theebookcoach.com/ebookprotection.html

Q: Where did you learn to do your websites?

A: First, I had a web designer create a few pages for me. The I started using them as templates. Even this newsletter is a template-every month I just change the text using a program called Front Page. It's very easy to use.

Then I have a web person who hooks up opt-in boxes to
shopping carts and autoresponders. If I have a page that doesn't look quite right to me I just tell him to "make it pretty" but I do 80-90% of the design work myself now using this method and it really keeps the cost down.

But if you don't have an eye for what works and what doesn't, study web pages you like. And hook up with someone who does have an eye and can keep you on track.

Then make sure to always test your pages and work with them until they convert really well.
